My Interview with Danielle Moinet: Part 1

June 1st, 2009 by Matt Aguirre in Overtime

Danielle MoinetThere are four essential things in a man’s life that he needs to keep him sane. Sports is a must, a beautiful woman, because even if they bother the hell out of us sometimes, we still can’t live without them. Another is food, and the last is some sort of hops fueled beverage. It would just be absolutely amazing if there was some sort of event that combined all four. Well now there is, and it is called the Lingerie Football League. Women in lingerie playing football; a simple yet genius creation. The lingerie league, after a couple of successful lingerie bowls, kicks off their inaugural season September 4th, when the Miami Caliente visit the Chicago Bliss.

Well about a two months ago while I was gambling away my hard earned money and watching the NCAA championship game at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, I met a very beautiful woman named Danielle Moinet. After talking for a bit, it turned out that Danielle, who is also a successful model, was not only on the Chicago Bliss team, but she was the team captain. After exchanging information and phone numbers, and talking for weeks thru text messages and facebook, I finally got the much sought after interview with Danielle. The following is what we discussed…

What kind of process did you go thru in order to become a member of the Chicago Bliss Lingerie Football Team?

I always knew about the Lingerie Bowl from seeing it on The Tonight Show, VH1, etc, so when I saw they were forming a league I had to go to the casting call! At tryouts we did some conditioning, ran offensive drills and were tested on speed, strength, and agility. I got a call later that evening and was offered one of the spots!

If you log onto the Lingerie Football League’s website, your video is being played as their promo, how did that feel when you saw yourself as the league’s “it” girl?

I was so flattered to be asked to do that promotional video. I didn’t really know how it would turn out but the final product is amazing. JRock Entertainment in Chicago did a phenomenal job! It got so many hits on YouTube in the first two weeks and I was so shocked! When I saw that The League was using it on there website I was so excited! It was crazy to think that every visitor to the website would see me all greased up. Now it’s being used in major stadiums nation wide so I’m honored to be a part of it!

When you aren’t stomping in a chick’s face on the playing field, what do you do for fun?

I’m always really busy but if I do have some free time I love to shop or go eat patio side with my friends if the weather’s nice. I’m a beach girl at heart so when Chicago has the slightest bit of sunshine I love going on a boat on the lake or laying out with my girlfriends!

Go thru a typical day for Danielle Moinet.

There is not such thing as a ‘typical’ day for me! Thursdays thru Sundays I am in a different city every week. I’m a media spokes model for Ask.com and I travel the NASCAR circuit. I’m usually here in Chicago on Mondays and Tuesdays. I catch up with emails and bookings, I might have a photo shoot, then go to the gym in the afternoon! I also pick up shifts at Tavern on Rush on these days! Wednesday’s are spent preparing to go out of town on Thursday…laundry, packing, and the gym again! Kind of boring huh? I try to hang out with my friends when I’m home too.

Were you always a big fan of sports growing up?

The only other sibling I have is a younger sister, so growing up my dad and I always watched sports together! Basketball, soccer, NASCAR, and a lot of football!

What teams did you grow up rooting for?

My dad is a Miami Dolphins fan so we always watched games! I’m a huge N.C. State fan and love Phillip Rivers! Now I’m a big Bears fan and can’t wait for the season to kick off!

You are originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. Why and when did you move to Chicago?

I moved to Chicago in December of 2007. I graduated and had a good desk job in North Carolina for a year and a half but I was just bored. I knew there was more for me out there, I just didn’t know what yet. I had never been to Chicago and didn’t know one person but my parents told me what a great city it was! So I called in sick to work one day, flew to Chicago, interviewed at some jobs, found an apartment, and then gave my two weeks notice the next day!

Can’t get enough of Danielle? Well come back tomorrow where we will finish up with Part 2 of the interview.
