The 2009 edition of the NBA Finals features a 14-time NBA champion versus a team that has never won a Finals game. Sounds lopsided right? Not so fast, these are two of the best offenses in the game and we’ll look to see a lot of scoring with very little defense played. Bulls guard Derrick Rose could potentially be in hot water after being named by sources to have had someone take his SAT test for him in high school.

Not only that, but he allegedly had some grades changed before applying to colleges and eventually playing for the Memphis Tigers. (Read More)

NBA Needs To Stop Rescinding, Upgrading Foul Calls

The NBA is falling into a bad habit of using their authority to simply overturn calls they feel should have been called differently, especially during the playoffs.

On a few occasions, there have been technical and flagrant fouls upgraded a level higher, or taken away altogether. The call on the court should stand final and the NBA should not be changing any calls without changing the scores. But of course they get involved when the stars are involved to prevent potential suspensions. (Read More)

Clippers Win Draft Lottery

The NBA franchise affiliated with futility was rewarded Tuesday with the top pick in June’s Draft. The Los Angles Clippers will select first and most likely take Oklahoma forward and All-American Blake Griffin.

LA had a 17.7% chance to win the top selection, which was the third highest behind Sacramento and Washington. (Read More)

Apology Day In The NBA

The playoffs can bring out the best in people and the worst in people. Two apologies were issued Tuesday, one necessary, one not.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban issued one to Kenyon Martin’s mother regarding some unnecessary comments following Dallas’ heartbreaking loss in game 3 and Celtics’ forward Glen Davis issued one to a kid he bumped into following his game-winning shot in game 4. (Read More)

LeBron Wins First MVP

The best player on the best team has won the NBA Most Valuable Player award. LeBron James will take home his first MVP trophy after leading the Cavaliers to a 66-16 record, which was tops in the league this season. (Read More)

Celtics Get Lucky Tying Series

The Celtics found no answer for Ben Gordon but Ray Allen bailed them out with a team high 30 points and a game-winning three-pointer to tie the series against the Bulls at a game a piece.

Allen bounced back after struggling immensely in game 1 and found his stroke, going 6-10 from beyond the arc and scoring 28 points in the second half in the win. Glen Davis scored 26 and Rajon Rondo had a triple double and proving his ankle injury in the second quarter was an act and nothing for the C’s to worry about. (Read More)
