The newest FIFA world rankings are out for this month, and as one would expect Spain now sits atop the FIFA rankings. Fresh off of their 1-0 victory over Germany in the Euro 2008 final, Spain moved up three places to become only the sixth team to be number one overall in the 15 year history of the rankings. (France, Germany, Brazil, Italy, and Argentina) Italy had a solid showing in the Euro 2008 and their semifinal berth earned them the number two spot ahead of Germany and Brazil.
