UNC Cruises To National Championship

It would have been a storybook ending for the state of Michigan and the city of Detroit but in the end, Michigan State just could not keep up with the high octane offense of North Carolina. UNC dominated throughout and won 89-72.

UNC put up 55 first half points and led by 21 at the half. Michigan State put small dents in that lead in the second half but every Carolina player stepped up their name and it would have been difficult for any team to beat them last night. (Read More)

Calipari Will Get UK Back On Top

Memphis coach John Calipari said the hardest part of accepting the Kentucky offer was leaving the school he brought to national prominence. Now he will be the highest paid coach in college basketball after signing a contract with Kentucky.

Coaching at Kentucky is a monumental challenge mainly because of the incredibly unrealistic expectations of the Wildcat fan base and boosters. UK hasn’t been to the Final Four since 1998 and they will all be looking to Calipari to get the team back on top of the college basketball world. (Read More)

Curry Moves From Single A To The Major Leagues

After a great season against mediocre competition in the Big South Conference, Seth Curry has decided to accept a scholarship at Duke after deciding to transfer from Liberty. The younger brother of Stephen Curry made the right decision and will really help himself become a much better player in one of the best conferences in the country, the ACC. (Read More)

Gillispie Two And Done at UK

Leading a team to a 40-27 record in two seasons isn’t bad at most schools but at the University of Kentucky, it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win in the postseason and frankly, that record simply isn’t good enough either. After two seasons, head coach Billy Gillispie has been fired at UK, now the team will focus on trying to land Florida coach Billy Donovan. [AP]

Down To The Sweet 16

After one of the best weekends in all of sports, we have gone from 64 teams all the way down to 16 after the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. No major surprises with the exception of 12-seed Arizona. The Tournament will pick up again on Thursday with these matchups. (Read More)

JR’s NCAA Bracket Breakdown

While trying to fill out my bracket I have had a very tough time. This has to be one of the best put together brackets that I can remember, and because of this it is very hard to pick these tough match-ups. I have quite a few picks that might deem me a raving loon, but I have a pretty solid foundation for them. That being said, I will share with you my thoughts on this years NCAA tournament and some of the more intriguing match-ups.
