Stanley Cup Finals Preview

Here we are one year later and nothing changed. We have a rematch of last season’s final, between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s the first time since 1983-84 that there is a rematch and we all should expect to see a great series. Bulls guard Derrick Rose could potentially be in hot water after being named by sources to have had someone take his SAT test for him in high school.

Not only that, but he allegedly had some grades changed before applying to colleges and eventually playing for the Memphis Tigers. (Read More)

NBA Needs To Stop Rescinding, Upgrading Foul Calls

The NBA is falling into a bad habit of using their authority to simply overturn calls they feel should have been called differently, especially during the playoffs.

On a few occasions, there have been technical and flagrant fouls upgraded a level higher, or taken away altogether. The call on the court should stand final and the NBA should not be changing any calls without changing the scores. But of course they get involved when the stars are involved to prevent potential suspensions. (Read More)

Finals Rematch

In what turned out to be quicker series than expected, we will have a rematch of last season’s Stanley Cup Finals. Beginning Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings will defend their championship against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Strike Zone Should Be Least Of Bradley’s Worries

The Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a seven game losing streak, falling back to .500, and in this recent stretch they have scored a grand total of ten runs. What could be the reason? According to Milton Bradley, the umpires are expanding the strike zone in retaliation and forcing them to swing at bad pitches. [Chicago Tribune]

NFL Seriously Considering Longer Season

The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement expires after the 2010 season and one of the topics is whether or not the season should be longer.

While a vote on the issue is not expected before this season, he will be debated and discussed for quite some time. Reasons for the change include more revenue for the league and television networks and since the NFL is the most popular sport in the country, that will remain one of the top selling points. Clippers Win Draft Lottery

The NBA franchise affiliated with futility was rewarded Tuesday with the top pick in June’s Draft. The Los Angles Clippers will select first and most likely take Oklahoma forward and All-American Blake Griffin.

LA had a 17.7% chance to win the top selection, which was the third highest behind Sacramento and Washington. (Read More)
