Stafford To Be Lions’ Top Pick

It’s been a busy week for the Detroit Lions. First they unveil their new logo and now they have a new franchise quarterback.

Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford has agreed to a six-year, $72 million contract with $41.7 million in guarantees. This deal is another record for a draft pick and so much for limiting how much rookies can make. (Read More)

Celtics Get Lucky Tying Series

The Celtics found no answer for Ben Gordon but Ray Allen bailed them out with a team high 30 points and a game-winning three-pointer to tie the series against the Bulls at a game a piece.

Allen bounced back after struggling immensely in game 1 and found his stroke, going 6-10 from beyond the arc and scoring 28 points in the second half in the win. Glen Davis scored 26 and Rajon Rondo had a triple double and proving his ankle injury in the second quarter was an act and nothing for the C’s to worry about. (Read More)

New Lions Logo Intimidates Nobody

Look at this logo. Scared? Well the Detroit Lions have spent time coming up with a new logo to make people forget that they were 0-16 a season ago. Chances are that nobody will forget that. Hopefully they spend more time debating who they should take with the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft this weekend. My advice would be to do that and spend less time on logos. Unless of course they can follow the Rays footsteps and make the Super Bowl in their first season with the new logo. Highly unlikely though.

Florida Off To Scorching Start

The team with by far the lowest payroll is off to the best start in MLB. At 11-1, the Florida Marlins have once again taken people by surprise as the best team in the game. Numbers don’t lie, but they also don’t tell the whole story. (Read More)

Western Conference Playoff Preview

This is supposed to be San Jose’s season. They had their best season in franchise history and if they don’t make it to the Stanley Cup, they never will. Eastern Conference Playoff Preview

It’s that time of year again in the NHL and I’ll offer an analysis of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference as well as some predictions in the first round series. The heavy favorite will be the Boston Bruins, led by goaltender Tim Thomas. Thomas led the league in goals against average and save percentage this season. (Read More)
